Mr. Aaron Evens is in his 16th year as an educator and his fourth as band director at Spring Hill. Mr. Evens is a graduate of Ithaca College where he studied trumpet with Dr. D. Kim Dunnick and conducting with Dr. Steven G. Peterson.  Following his graduation from Ithaca, Mr. Evens worked in public schools in New York and Alabama.  In 2010 he accepted a full time graduate assistant position at Central Michigan University to study instrumental conducting with Mr. John Williamson.  During his tenure at CMU, Mr. Evens served as the primary conductor of the symphonic band as well as the campus band.  Additionally, he assisted with undergraduate conducting courses and taught music education classes to undergraduate students.  Mr. Evens remains an active performer as a member of the Music City Chorus, serves as the choir director at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Columbia, TN, as well as serving in the judging program for the Barbershop Harmony Society.  He holds memberships in Phi Mu Alpha, NAFME, TMEA, MTSBOA, NBA and the Barbershop Harmony Society.
